The Gospel

You know what?

We understand that all people regardless of race, creed, nationality, gender, profession, religion, or any other distinction that can be thought of, are fallen and separated from the blessings of knowing or experiencing God in a personal way...its just this simple...God is holy, humans are not.

"Holiness" and "sinfulness" are not different degrees of the same thing, they are completely incompatible--like oil and water! A person is either holy or sinful--the "in-between" really doesn't matter.

Since God is the Creator of all that is, and God is holy, He alone understands what the problem is and the fix for it. So, although humans have always shown that they do have a desire to know or please a "god" in some way (and some of the ways are pretty scary!), they really do not have the "tools" to figure out how to gain a relationship with Him.

God loves us all regardless of what we do or have done. No, really! He loves you and me because He chooses to, not because of what we can do. Its a simple fact that He has proven over and over again throughout history. Really, "history" is His - story! One of the greatest ways that He has shown His love for us is by revealing Himself to us through nature.
General Revelation
Naturally speaking...The creation and everything around us shows that He exists and is an awesome God. But, nature doesn't really tell us about whether God is 'good' or 'bad' We need to know more than what observing nature can show us.
Special Revelation!
God knows that we-even though we try-cannot build a path up to Him. So, He uncovered the path that He made for us. He revealed what we need to know by inspiring certain people to write what He showed them. Over about 1400 years, they wrote histories and songs, teachings and even told about the future--with 100% accuracy! The 66 books they wrote have become known as The Holy Bible.
Very Special Revelation!!
The absolute greatest way God has ever revealed Himself is through Jesus Christ! He showed his character, power, love, ideals and most importantly, the only and true path to be securely reunited with God.

Wait for it...wait for it...wait for it...

Are you ready?

Trusting that God will accept you just as you are because of what Jesus Christ did for you is the only path to Him. Sin and holiness don't mix, so Jesus came to earth, lived with humans and never said or did anything that was sinful and completely fulfilled all of God's requirements for you and for me! So, the life that Christians live is by faith in the accomplished work of Jesus, not by trying to accomplish what God requires, but simply trusting in what Jesus did. Sound simple enough? Too simple?

The Gospel is found specifically in the book of 1 Corinthians...chapter 15...
Now brothers, I want to clarify for you the gospel I proclaimed to you; you received it and have taken your stand on it. You are also saved by it, if you hold to the message I proclaimed to you—unless you believed for no purpose. For I passed on to you as most important what I also received:
that Christ died for our sins
according to the Scriptures,
that He was buried,
that He was raised on the third day
according to the Scripture...

That's it! There is nothing that can be added or taken away from it. (Although people try.)
Here are some incorrect views:
• Believe and repent; as if the two are separated. Acts 20:21 shows repentance and belief together signify belief in Christ.
• Believe and be baptized; Shows that the thief (also on a cross) "said to Jesus, 'Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom.' Jesus said to him, 'Assuredly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise.'" (Luke 23:42-43) No baptizm there!
• Believe and surrender; this one is based on an incorrect view of Romans 10:9. The Lordship of Christ is important, but it is not salvation.
• Believe and confess; again, this is based upon a mistaken understanding of Ro 10:9. To confess Christ as Lord is to declare His deity.
Many Passages of Scripture show that man's only responsibility in salvation is believing the gospel. (John 1:12; 3:16,18,36; 5:24; 11:25-26; 12:44; 20:31; etc...)

So, here is the story...all from the book of Romans!
I. Romans 3:10
As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one.
II. Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
III. Romans 5:8
But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
IV. Romans 5:12
Because, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
V. Romans 6:23
...the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
VI. Romans 10:9-11
That if you will confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, you will be saved.(remember confession is not a requirement; people "confess" things all the time that are not true. You must understand His truth in your heart...)
For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with
the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture says who ever believes in him will not be ashamed.
VII. Romans 10:13
For whoever will call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
So, pray like this..."Lord I know you died because of my sins. I know you are the Christ you takes my sins away. I trust you to save me. I understand You are Lord of all. I thank you for saving me. Guide me and make me into the person you wish me to be. I will serve you. In Jesus name, Amen!
